Who doesn’t? Here are ten great public saltwater aquariums that you will love!

These are a good place to see how a healthy aquarium should look like. There is so much to see and learn! Tons of information about fish, invertebrates, marine mammals, reptiles, and amphibians.

You can also copy the style and decoration of the aquarium for your home saltwater aquarium.

Where ever you live, there should be one close to you listed here. If not, try looking it up online and I bet you can definitely find one.

So let’s start with the one closest to me.

Monterey Bay Aquarium

Sea Otter

Monterey Bay Aquarium is located in Monterey, California.

They offer a wonderful re-creation of Pacific marine habitats and their inhabitants.

They have fishes and animals including the very cute sea otters and penguins. Other exhibits include Kelp Forrest, Giant Octopus, one-million gallon Outer Bay exhibit.

Sea World

Shamu

This public saltwater aquarium is one of my favorite. Sea World combines animal attractions with rides, shows, dining and shopping.

Their parks are located in (1) Orlando, Florida, (2) San Antonio, Texas and (3) San Diego, California.

They offer a little bit of everything to everyone in your family.

A visit in Sea World would not be complete without seeing the infamous killer whale Shamu show!

Audubon Aquarium of the Americas

They are located in New Orleans, Louisiana. Audubon Aquarium of the Americas is a family of 9 museums and parks dedicated to nature and wildlife preservation.

Tennessee Aquarium

Sand Tiger Shark

Ok, I said public saltwater aquariums, but I included this in our list since they are the largest freshwater aquarium in the world.

They are located in Chattanooga, Tennessee.

See their spectacular 60-foot canyon and two living forests, where you’ll see more than 9,000 animals that swim, fly and crawl in natural habitats.

Georgia Aquarium

Ocean Voyager

Georgia Aquarium is the world’s largest aquarium with 8 million gallons of fresh and marine water, and more than 100,000 animals representing 500 species from around the globe.

They are located in Atlanta, Georgia.

One highlight is the Ocean Voyager. Thousand of fish swimming overhead while you walk through an acrylic tunnel.

This exhibit houses whale sharks – the largest fish species in the world.

National Aquarium

National Aquarium is located in Baltimore, Maryland. It is Maryland’s leading tourist attraction.

Animals include birds, amphibians, and reptiles. One of their exhibit highlights is their unbelievable dolphin amphitheater.

Mystic Aquarium

Beluga Whale

Mystic Aquarium is located in Mystic, Connecticut and is known for their beluga whales.

It also houses all kinds of fish and invertebrates.

New England Aquarium

This is the last on my list of public saltwater aquariums. It is located in Boston, Massachusetts.Giant Ocean Tank

Their Caribbean Coral Reef exhibit, also called “Giant Ocean Tank” -(streaming video) is their centerpiece. It is a 200,000-gallon tank and houses not only sharks, sea turtles, barracuda, and moray, but also hundreds of smaller exotic tropical fishes.
